Your document library (everything you've explained, kept for cross-referencing) is stored in your browser's local IndexedDB — on your device only. It is never uploaded anywhere unless you explicitly use "Back up my library" to download your own copy as a file.
Sharper subscriptions are billed by Stripe. We never receive or store your card number — Stripe handles that directly and shares with us only what's needed to check your subscription is active (a subscription ID and its status), plus whatever receipt email you give Stripe.
Plainly doesn't use cookies, analytics, or advertising trackers. The only thing stored in your browser is your chosen mode, your document library, and (for BYOK) your own API key — all in local storage on your device, none of it sent to us.
Since Free & Private and BYOK data never reaches us, there's nothing for us to delete or export on your behalf for those modes — it's already entirely under your control on your own device. For Sharper, you can ask us to confirm what subscription data we hold (just your Stripe subscription ID and status) or to delete your account's association with Plainly, at the contact below.
Plainly isn't directed at children and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
If this policy changes materially, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
